The Youth-led Podcasts is a program developed to empower young people and give them a platform to voice their concerns and address a variety of issues that impact them, their communities, and the world at large.
Not only is podcasting fun to do, but podcasting supports important 21st century skills for communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Youth love podcasting as a medium to tell their story and share their ideas, all while practicing their speaking and writing skills.
Youth-led podcasts are a way to reach out to young people and the world in a constructive and fun way. These podcasts give youth a new and exciting platform to voice their views and perspectives about the challenges they are facing in today’s world. Youth would identify issues they feel are prevalent and compelling and work with Youth Infusion, teachers and community members to help promote awareness and solutions.
You can listen to some of the episodes the youth who have participated in the program have published here: Youth-Led Podcasts, Youth Infusion, Inc.

Program Description
Youth Infusion relies on its Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) for guidance to ensure that programs created are appropriate and enjoyable for young people. The YLAB is comprised of teens that are considered high achievers. They are responsible for identifying peers who are struggling in school because of multitude of reasons. One of the most important factors is that peers identify and help fellow peers. This is done through peer-to-peer connection and engagement.
Oversight, guidance, and mentorship will be provided to the Youth Leadership Advisory Board teens by Youth Infusion’s Youth Leadership Advisory Board Task Force comprised of young professional leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners and University students.
Input, suggestions, and recommendations from the YLAB are key to Youth Infusion’s success. During the school year, students will be working in “HUBS” in their schools and other identified locations on the following goals and objectives:
Goal and Objectives
Goal #1: Community Involvement
Youth Leadership and Advisory Board members will:
ü make decisions and recommendations to Youth Infusion staff and Board of Directors regarding community programs and activities for youth.
ü exemplify leadership while advising on programs through shared decision-making to transform and create positive social change in their communities.
ü engage in Youth Infusion events such as students’ celebrations and community fundraisers.
ü organize and advocate on behalf of Youth Infusion and its programs/activities.
Goal #2: Positive Strengthening of Youth Engagement
Youth Leadership and Advisory Board members will:
ü Provide recommendations for how to strengthen youth engagement across Youth Infusion activities, including meetings and events.
ü Plan Northeast Pennsylvania’s largest conference as part of Global Youth Service Day. Activities are organized in more than 100 countries each April to help mark the celebrations, and engage millions, making it the largest annual celebration of young volunteers.
Kindness Covers is a youth-driven philanthropic program functioning under the non-profit organization, Youth Infusion, Inc. Kindness Covers was founded by 14-year-old Isabella Novak in 2018 (when she was 12-years-old) with a mission of creating fleece blankets to gift to those who would benefit from a little extra happiness, joy, kindness, or warmth in their life.
Over the past two years, Kindness Covers has donated more than 500 blankets to members of our community and cancer patients in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia. Annually, Kindness Covers works with The Schyler Strong Foundation to raise funds, make blankets, and deliver a minimum of 50 handmade blankets to the Oncology Unit at CHOP in honor of Schyler Herman, who fought ALL and AML for a year before losing her battle on October 31st, 2018 at the young age of 15 years old. Kindness Covers had worked with Girl Scout Troops, Elementary Classes, Athletic Teams, Honor Society Students, and FBLA Clubs in order to teach area youth about philanthropy. Through these group efforts, blankets have been distributed to CHOP, LVHN NICU, LVHN Bangor Infusion Center, The Dale Hughes Francis Cancer Center, Woman's Resources of Monroe County, Family Promise of Monroe County, and Third Street Alliance. Individual Kindness Covers have been made and mailed to members of our community when facing a challenging recovery from a diagnosis or unique hardship.
Our slogan is, "Spreading Kindness Through the Warmth of Handmade Blankets." ~ Isabella Novak
