Thank You for Being Part of the Conversation – January 19, 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19, 2026, to be part of MLK Day: A New Era of Youth Service in America. Whether you attended in person or virtually, your presence, your voice, and your willingness to engage made this conversation meaningful and impactful.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is more than a day of remembrance—it is a call to action. Dr. King believed deeply in the power of service, justice, and collective responsibility. He challenged us not only to dream of a better world, but to actively build it through courage, compassion, and community engagement. Together, we honored that legacy by showing up and leaning into conversations that matter.

This Community Forum brought together young people, educators, families, community leaders, and organizations at a pivotal moment. Across our communities, many young people are experiencing disconnection and real barriers to meaningful civic participation. At the same time, they bring powerful ideas, lived experience, creativity, and a deep desire to make a difference. On January 19th, youth voice was centered—and it was heard.

Hosted by Youth Infusion in partnership with Youth Service America, this event was part of a broader statewide and national conversation as we approach America’s Semiquincentennial in 2026. Together, we listened honestly, reflected deeply, and began to reimagine what service and civic engagement can look like for this generation—while naming the barriers that exist and exploring how we can remove them.

The conversations we shared were raw, authentic, and necessary—and they do not end here. Your participation helps shape what comes next as we work collectively to build trust, create pathways, and strengthen connections between young people and their communities.
