Meet Sam Washington from We See Productions. Why is Sam a YLAB Task Force Mentor?
The Role of a Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) Task Force Mentor:
Task Force Mentors like Sam play a key role in reaching, inspiring, empowering and connecting youth to their communities. Mentors empower youth and help them see their strengths, talents and encourage them to find positive ways to use them.
There is a tremendous opportunity to empower young people through service-learning and community-based programming, such as the Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) Program. Young people need a sense of belonging and purpose to thrive—and you can help make that happen!
We are seeking Task Force Mentors across the 9 counties we serve to join our YLAB Adult Task Force. If you live or work in these counties, we need your leadership and commitment!
Our goal is to involve 180 Adult Task Force Mentors to guide and inspire the 300+ students participating in the YLAB Program across the region. Mentors will receive comprehensive training, including Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), before working directly with students. Check out our training schedule: YMHFA Training Schedule.
