The Role of a Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) Task Force Mentor:
Task Force Mentors like Sam play a key role in reaching, inspiring, empowering and connecting youth to their communities. Mentors empower youth and help them see their strengths, talents and encourage them to find positive ways to use them.
There is a tremendous opportunity to engage young people through service-learning and community-based programming like the YLAB Board Program. Young people need to have a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose.
We are looking for 20 Task Force Mentors in each of the 9 Counties we serve to join our YLAB Adult Task Force. Do you live and work in these counties? Our goal is to have at least 180 Adult Task Force Mentors involved in mentoring our 305+ students throughout the 9 counties. Mentors will receive access to specific training, including Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) before working directly with students. Placing trained mentors in the lives of our youth impacts critical life decisions and influences how they contribute to their communites and society as a whole.

THE ROLE OF AN ADULT TASK FORCE MENTOR
Oversight, guidance, and mentorship will be provided to the Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB) students who participate in the YLAB Program. Youth Infusion’s YLAB Task Forces (Adults over age of 19 years old) are professional leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners and university students who want to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Input, suggestions, and recommendations from all involved with the YLAB will be key to Youth Infusion’s success and the success of the YLAB Program. During the school year, students will be working in “HUBS” in their schools and other identified locations with our community partners, focusing on community involvement and positive strengthening of youth engagement.
All Task Force Candidates will go through an interview process before onboarding process begins. An official onboarding process will take place in the months of September and October 2024.
